Summary
Pandion Systems, Inc. has been awarded a 5-year, $5 million, indefinite
quantity / indefinite delivery contract with the General Services
Administration (GSA) for environmental services.
The GSA has pre-qualified Pandion to
make it easier for Federal contracting officers to award environmental
contracts. This means that Pandion's capabilities
have been reviewed and our rates have been negotiated. All a Federal
Agency has to do is place an order directly with a GSA schedule
contractor, such as Pandion. Federal Agencies can significantly
reduce the time required to obtain services to as little as two
weeks. The relationship between the contractor and the
client is a direct one.
Online access to contract ordering
information is available at: www.GSAAdvantage.gov
Pandion’s multiple award
contract covers the following Special Item Numbers: SIN

(GIS)

SIN

compliance, interdisciplinary project management, and document
preparation. Pandion ecologists and biologists are

nature-based recreation
end ecotourism, protected species, and invasive exotic species.
Pandion staff have successfully completed the following types
of projects in the past three years that relate to SIN 899-1:
- Environmental Impact Statements Under NEPA
- Endangered
Species and/ or Wetlands Analysis

- Environmental Program Management and Environmental Regulation
Development
- Economic, Technical and/or Risk Analysis

SIN 899-7: Geographic Information Systems
Pandion integrates GIS into almost every project it does. GIS
has become a powerful tool that is used to create simple
maps for
diagrammatic purposes and for models that predict the impacts
of human development on natural areas.
Pandion has been at the
forefront of using GIS to answer complex questions for clients.
Pandion has full range of GIS software, but principally uses
ESRI’s ArcGIS and other ESRI software such as ArcView 3.x
depending on the client’s needs and platforms. Pandion
can handle both raster and vector based requirements depending
on project needs.
Pandion also integrates GIS and GPS
into field data collection and analysis. Since 2002, Pandion has
been using ESRI’s ArcPad as the principal platform to collect
and display data in the field with an integrated GPS solution
that usually entails IPAQ handheld pocket PC wirelessly connected
to a GPS receiver. When projects call for sub-meter accuracy
Pandion uses Trimble ProXR receivers.
