Beach Park Planning and Ecosystem Restoration
Town of Ft. Myers Beach, FL Pandion developed an
ecosystem restoration and park plan for this municipal park on
the Gulf of Mexico. We identified invasive exotic plants and
historic natural communities, and assessed potential for restoration
and facilities development on the site. Pandion designed
a phased plan for invasive exotic plant removal, restoration
planting, and facilities development
that would allow the park to be open to the public as soon
as possible while also accommodating gradual restoration. Pandion developed species planting
lists and schedules for restoration of beach dune,
coastal
strand, and tropical/maritime hammock natural communities.  Key
