Senior Water Resources Training and Focus Groups
Hillsborough County Water Department

Pandion developed and implemented a unique water education and conservation program for senior citizens (age 55 and over) in Hillsborough County, Florida. Senior volunteers were educated to act as sources of water resource information for their communities. Pandion created a training course tailored to Hillsborough County's water conservation issues, which incorporated presentations, guest speakers, discussion, topics of special interest to each group, and field trips.

Pandion recently conducted three focus groups in the Southeastern and Northwestern sections of Hillsborough County to take advantage of improvement opportunities for recruitment and information dissemination. Results of this evaluation led to recommendations for an expanded training program to reach multiple audiences.
